There are many ways to improve one's writing and literary expression. The obvious way is to write as much as possible, and there seems to be an endless amount of instructions as to how, when and what to write. Many professional authors advice aspiring writers to write the first thing in the morning, or to write for ten minutes each day without interruptions. Another piece of advice is to write about anything and everything, even about subjects that don't seem the least bit inspiring. Recently, I have tried to take up the task of writing daily about various subjects. For this purpose, I've used daily writing prompts. I've subscribed to a mailing list where these prompts are given daily, but such effort isn't necessary since you can find a writing prompt list for each month from the internet - just Google "writing prompt list" and you should find lots and lots of lists. I'm here again in an attempt to keep another blog. I've had several blogs for several purposes for at least seven years. Many of them have been failed attempts to record my daily life - failed since doing regular updates has not been my forte. In the end, keeping a blog always started to feel pointless and I would just forget about the thing. I simply didn't have anything interesting to write about. Now things seem to have changed for me since I have succeeded in keeping a blog that is interesting to me for several months now. In that blog, I have written mostly about video games I've played, music I've listened to and my studies at the department of media at University of Lapland. Somewhat personal, not very structured stuff that is supposed to be interesting to just me.
